Temporary government ecoENERGY Retrofit incentive

ecoENERGY Retrofit Homes

An expanded ecoENERGYRetrofit Homes program was announced in January, 2009 by the Federal Government to support property owners looking to make their homes more energy-efficient.

ecoENERGY Retrofit for Homes provides home and property owners with grants of up to $5,000 to offset the cost of making energy-efficiency improvements.

ecoENERGY Retrofit grants apply to a host of measures that reduce energy consumption and provide a cleaner environment, from increasing insulation to upgrading a furnace.

Homeowners participating in the ecoENERGY Retrofit Homes Program are eligible to receive the temporary Home Renovation Tax Credit (HRTC) in addition to the ecoENERGY Retrofit Homes Grant for some of the improvements made.
